# Clinical Research Map > A map of the clinical research organizations that run clinical trials, and of the sites where trials are conducted. Powered by Pharma Observatory, a Scientist.com company. The map has two layers. Organizations (the default): Clinical research organizations: the sponsors with a public page on Pharma Observatory, each at the trial sites of the trials it leads. Organizations shown are the sponsors of clinical trials that have a public page on Pharma Observatory: groups that lead ten or more registered trials. Each pin is a trial site of a trial the organization leads as lead sponsor (not as a collaborator), placed from the address on the trial registration, so it shows part of where the organization works, not all of it. Select an organization to see all of its sites. An organization with no located trial site is listed but has no pin. The region and country filters use the organization's registered or headquarters address, or where it runs the most trial sites when that address is unknown. Trial sites (`?layer=sites`): Clinical trial sites: one pin for each physical site that hosts trials, placed from the address on the trial registration. Each pin is one trial site, placed on the map from the address on the trial registration, so it shows part of where trials are run, not all of it. A site with no located address has no pin. A site with a public page on Pharma Observatory links to it; other sites show name, place and trial count only. The page's search box and filters narrow the map and the list together. ## The map - [Clinical Research Map: organizations](https://clinicalresearchmap.com/): the interactive map and the searchable list of organizations. - [Clinical Research Map: trial sites](https://clinicalresearchmap.com/?layer=sites): the same map with one pin per trial site. ## Pages the pins link to - Each organization links to its page on Pharma Observatory, at https://pharmaobservatory.com/orgs/. - Each trial site links to its page on Pharma Observatory, at https://pharmaobservatory.com/sites/.
